Songwriting history
Kerron A. Noel started singing at an early age in a family quartet which included his mother, two brothers and himself. He later sang in vocal groups and choirs in his church. Though he did not sing competitively or for financial reward, the experience laid the foundation for his interest in songwriting. Kerron Noel Songwriting history
The very first compositions by kerron were all poems. During the years 1992 and 1993, both he and his cousin (Aaron Legall) would compose poems regularly. At that time however, there wasn’t a keen interest in creative writing and as such none of the compositions were preserved.
There was a relatively long period (between 1993-1997) before
any other works were created. In the early part of 1998 he started composing again but this time he attempted to create melodies for the lyrics. The songs that were made during this time were of a secular nature dealing with topics of current affairs.
He would often make amateur recordings of the songs, which he would play among friend and relatives.
As with his first compositions these songs were also not saved and
so they were lost forever.
In 1999 Kerron began collaborating with other writers and singers from his church (namely Neron DeGale, Jamal Drayton & Anson Ross) and it was at this time that gospel music became the main focus. Wrendon Timothy and Kevoughn Webster (both pianist) often provided assistance. In the following years, many of their songs were performed at various venues across the country.
